De Efteling Kaatsheuvel
De Efteling is one of the leading theme parks in Europe and has been rewarded as the best amusement park of the world in 1992. It’s a full-size theme park that can easily compete with the famous Disneyland! For young children there's a Ferry Tale Forest (or Sprookjesbos in Dutch), where well-knows ferry tales are represented. You can see castles and houses and ferry tale figures like dwarfs, princesses, dragons and trolls in this lovely forest. You can find about 25 different ferry tales in the forest like Snow White, the little mermaid, the sleeping beauty, the red shoes, little red riding hood, Hansel and Gretel, the wolf and the seven kids and Cinderella. All of them are represented by buildings, figures and story tellers!
You will find many family attractions in De Efteling that everyone likes, whatever their age is! There are an old streamtrain that rides you through the park, a carrousel, a railway for children, a 4-D movie theatre, boats, teacups, a theatre, the Carnival festival with dancing puppets and the Fata Morgana journey and much more.
Older children and adults will love the many exciting attractions that De Efteling has got to offer. The park contains some spectacular attractions like the double-loop rollercoaster Python, the Haunted Castle, the Pirana river-raft ride, the wooden rollercoaster Pegasus, the mad house Villa Volta, the bobsled rollercoaster, the swinging pirates ship, Dream flight, the indoor rollercoaster Vogelrok and the water coaster Flying Dutchman. You could combine your visit to De Efteling with a stay in the Efteling hotel, which is located close to the park's entrane. In this magical hotel you can stay in one of the theme suites and enjoy the play castle, the playground and the golf course! The Efteling hotel offer guest special extras like early park entrance and free parking.
De Efteling can get very crowded especially during school holidays and weekends. At the Efteling website you can see a prediction of the busy and quiet days, so it might be useful to check before planning your visit!

De Efteling is located at Europalaan 1 in Tilburg, 70 km south of Rotterdam. You can take the train to Tilburg from Rotterdam Central Station, which takes you about 47 minutes. When you arrive at Tilburg Central Station there are plenty of buses waiting to take you to De Efteling!
If you come by car you need to take the A16 to the south of Netherlands with direction Dordrecht. Then you need to follow Breda, take exit 's-Hertogenbosch to highway A59, follow Waalwijk/Kaatsheuvel (on main road N261), and follow the signs to "Efteling". It will take you approximately 50 minutes to get there.
