The Garden of Four Wind Directions, by natives of Rotterdam called ‘de Tuin’ (the Garden) is located on a beautiful site at Lake Kralingen. From the outdoor waterfront terrace you have a nice view over the lake and Rotterdam’s skyline. de Tuin is situated in a recently fully renovated mansion from 1867 and has its own wooden pier. Due to its central location in the ‘Kralingse Bos’ park, on weekdays de Tuin is a meeting place for hikers, bikers and inline skaters. During the weekend the restaurant is a busy but stylish place to meet trendy inhabitants of Rotterdam. Visiting de Tuin can be particularly recommended on early Sunday evening as there is always live music.
