The Night of the Proms is a multi-day music festival where classical music is mixed with pop music. The festival is organized in many countries and there are always top artists performing at the festival.

Inspired by the Last Night of the Proms
The Night of the Proms in the Netherlands has been organized in the Ahoy multi-functional venue in Rotterdam since 1991 and draws tens of thousands of visitors every year. The festival is inspired on the Last Night of the Proms that is organized every year in the Royal Albert Hall in London. Musical scores from the past and the present are being played under the guidance of a choir and an orchestra. Every year another musical instrument is being put into the spotlight during the Night of the Proms.

Top artists during the Night of the Proms
In addition to the choir and the orchestra top artists are performing every year during the Night of the Proms. This generates a unique mix between classical and pop music. In the past years the following artists have performed in this festival: Roxette, Within Temptation, Simple Minds, Sinead O'Connor, Donna Summer, Ike Turner, John Miles, Joe Cocker, INXS, Toto and Meatloaf.

Night of the Proms Rotterdam by public transport
The Night of the Proms is held in Rotterdam's multifunctional centre Ahoy in the South of Rotterdam, near the Zuidplein Mall. You can easily reach Ahoy Rotterdam by Metro or Bus, stop Zuidplein. Plan your trip with the public transport planning site www.9292.nl. It's free of charge. To travel by public transport in Rotterdam you must purchase a travel chip card first.

Night of the Proms Rotterdam by car
If you come by car, follow directions to Ahoy on the Ring Motorway (A15 South - exit Zuidplein/Ahoy). You can pay to park your car in front of Ahoy; a lot of parking spots are available here. When travelling to Ahoy, you might encounter some traffic nuisance, especially at major events! Parking at Ahoy costs €11,00. If this parking lot is full, you can pay to park in the Zuidplein Mall garage. From there it’s a 5 minute walk to Ahoy.

The Night of the Proms is an annual music event in Ahoy Rotterdam. The next edition takes place on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 November 2012.
