No more Dance Parade in Rotterdam
The Fast Forward Dance Parade in Rotterdam be no longer be organised in the future and neither will a direct successor of the famous Dance Parade be planned. Instead, the Dance Parade financial budget will be made available for three or four youth events in Rotterdam.

In memoriam: 500.000 party people at the old Dance Parade in Rotterdam
The Dance Parade was Benelux biggest dance event with more than 500.000 visitors! A parade of over 30 open sound trucks cruised through Rotterdam city centre with the best dj's and most beautiful dancers on it. The trucks had huge sound systems mounted on the side, so that everyone along the route could enjoy the music!

Stricter event regulations in Rotterdam
Unfortunately, the Dance Parade will no longer be held its present form. It no longer fits within the events policy of the city of Rotterdam, as the rules have been tightened. Present regulations demand that big dance events may only take place on closed areas, where visitors can be searched before entering the party site. Another rule is that tickets may be sold in presale only. It's really unfortunate, but the goal is to avoid riots like in the city of Hoek van Holland, where in 2009 a dance party went totally out of control.

Now & Wow Festival: the Dance Parade successor?
Presently, a new dance festival in Rotterdam, kicking off in September 2011 called the Now & Wow festival is being planned. It is named after the former dance club in Rotterdam. The event doesn't only focus on dace, but also on mode and art.
