The Gergiev Festival is a multi-day music event organized by the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, one of Europe's leading symphony orchestras. The Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra is famous on an international level for the intense energy of their concerts and the way the orchestra approaches the public. When Valery Gergiev was appointed the maestro of the symphony orchestra in 1995, the Rotterdam Philharmonic entered a new age with great tours all over the world. The Gergiev Festival in Rotterdam is a great tribute to him!

History Gergiev Festival Rotterdam

Valery Gergiev took the initiative in 1995 for a classical music event in Rotterdam. This festival quickly developed from a series of small concerts with a theme, into the large scale music festival at Theatre De Doelen in Rotterdam.

The theatre is within walking distance. Plan your trip at www.9292.nl. It's free of charge. To travel by public transport in Rotterdam you must purchase a travel chip card first.

You can park in the surrounding streets or in the Schouwburgplein parking in Rotterdam. You must pay to park in Rotterdam city centre until 11 pm by EC card or creditcard.
