North Sea Jazz Festival
The North Sea Jazz Festival is the biggest jazz festival in the world with fifteen stages, 180 acts and 1500 musicians! The festival offers many musical genres ranging from traditional New Orleans jazz, swing, bop, free jazz, fusion, avant garde jazz and elctronic jazz to blues, gospel, funk, soul, hiphop, r&b, world beat and latin. Many great jazz legends have have performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival over the years: Miles Davis, Sarah Vaughan, Nat Adderley, Count Basie, Dizzy Gillespie, Stan Getz, Tony Bennett, Santana, Alicia Keys, Youssou N'Dour, Erykah Badu, The Brecker Brothers, Ibrahim Ferrer, Ella Fitzgerald, Lionel Hampton, Al Jarreau, B.B. King, Wynton Marsalis, Bugge Wesseltoft, John Zorn and Joe Zawinul to name a few!
Besides these jazz legends the North Sea Jazz Festival gives new, young talent a chance to make it to the stage. Some of the names who were first introduced at the North Sea Jazz Festival to European audiences include Shirley Horn, Tania Maria, Roy Hargrove and Rachelle Ferrell. That is what makes the North Sea Jazz Festival so unique; a presentation of the past, present and future of jazz music in three days, all under one roof!

DIRECTIONS North Sea Jazz Festival
The North Sea Jazz festival is held in Rotterdam's multifunctional complex Ahoy Rotterdam in the Soutch of Rotterdam close to Zuidplein Mall. You can easily reach Ahoy Rotterdam by Metro or Bus to Zuidplein.
If you come by car you have to follow the signs 'Ahoy' at the Ring Road (A15 South - exit Zuidplein/Ahoy). You can park your car in front of Ahoy where there are a lot of parking spots. You will be charged a fee of 10 euros for parking your car at the Ahoy parking. Make sure you leave early when coming to Ahoy because there will be a lot of trafiic jams at major events!
