CHIO Rotterdam
The Concours Hippique International Officiel is the biggest international (outdoor) horse-riding event in the Netherlands. It's one of the top international equestrian events in the world and is a wonderful day out, offering something for everyone - whether you are a horse enthusiast or not! You can see the best international, national and regional horse riders competing in show-jumping and dressage at this 60 years event! The best horse riders of the world participate in this spectacular horse show. You can see European, World and Olympic champions competing to win this prestigious tournament. Riders like Jos Lansink, Meredith Michaels Beerbaum, Ludger Beerbaum, Albert Zoer, Michael Whitaker, Marcus Ehning, Beezie Madden, Laura Kraut, Piet Raijmakers and Anky van Grunsven have tried to win the CHIO Rotterdam.
One of the highlights of CHIO Rotterdam is the the Samsung Super League with FEI, Nations' Cup Show. The four best rider/horse combinations from eight countries around the world battle it out in this elite competition which takes place at eight international venues.
The CHIO is set to be five full days of international competition, sport, socializing, shopping and entertainment and is an experience that you don't want to miss! At Wednesday there are many demonstrations and all kinds of horse activities for children. At Thursday you can visit the CHIO Ladies day with workshops, readings and fashion shows including a fashion show with hats from different cultures! And everyday there are great demonstrations like the Ukrainian horse riding show and artist performances including many famous national singers!
You can buy tickets for the CHIO Rotterdam at the entrance desk in the Kralingse Bos. The desk will be open 30 minutes before start of the first game. You can choose between a day ticket or a passe-partout, which gives you access to CHIO Rotterdam for all five days! There are special discounts for children.

DIRECTIONS CHIO Rotterdam
The CHIO is held in the Kralingse Bos just outside city center. You can easily get there by taking the metro to Kralingse Zoom or take tram 7 to the Erasmus University at Burgemeester Oudlaan. You can take the free shuttle bus from Kralingse Zoom or the Erasmus University to the main entrance of the CHIO.
If you come by car you have to take exit Kralingen at the Ring road Rotterdam (highway A16). There are special parkings for visitors with a parking permit. If you don't have a parking permit you can park your car for free at the parking of metro station Kralingse Zoom or at the Erasmus University parking for a fee of 5 euros. You can take the free shuttle bus from Kralingse Zoom or the Erasmus University to the main entrance of the CHIO.

The CHIO event is a yearly event that usually takes place in June. The event starts at a Tuesday and finishes on a Sunday.
