Café Pol: an old pub with new people
The oldest café at Meent is Café Pol (Meent 46-48), this is a no-nonsense pub with easy listening music and a perfect place to have a spontaneous conversation with young people. This pub is relatively small, on summer evenings most people just hang out on the outdoor terrace. Pol is located at the corner of Meent and Binnenrotte, where every Tuesday and Saturday the street market takes place. Before and after the Wednesday Night Skate event, a big outdoor party with a deejay and outdoor bar takes place at the market square abeam Pol.

Going out and shopping at Meent
Meent is the sidestreet off Coolsingel (near McDonald’s) that leads to Goudsesingel. This street used to have a bit shabby image, but nowadays trendy shops and businesses line up to settle here. The Rotterdam Meent shopping and night life area is evolving rapidly and you can laze about the streets of international standing with a variety of bars, restaurants and clothing stores. During the day you go here for shopping, but at night Meent area presently has the best night life on offer in Rotterdam. You can go here for a stylish after dinner drink, but you can also lounge here until early in the morning…
