The Delftse Poort building (or Delft Gate in English) is also known as the Nationale Nederlanden building, because it serves as the headquarters of insurance company Nationale Nederlanden.. It is one of the most famous buildings in Rotterdam, because when it was completed it was the tallest building in the Benelux. Today it is still one of the tallest buildings in Rotterdam.

The Delftse Poort was built in 1991 and has got 41 floors which make the building reach 151 meters. This is one of the buildings that made Rotterdam known as a high-rise city.

    Two towers
A second smaller tower of 93 meters is located next to the tower of 151 meters. The two towers are linked by a block in the middle. The Delftse Poort was designed by architect Abe Bonnema,

    Reflective glass
The facade of the Delftse Poort consists of maintenance free, blue coloured reflective glass, which makes the appearance of the building majestic. In the past the facade was used several times for huge publicity stunts and around Christmas thousands of LED lights on the facade made a beautiful starry sky.
