Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen is Rotterdam's main art museum. The collection ranges from medieval European art to modern art. During your visit to the museum you will travel through the history of art, from the Middle Ages until the present day.
The museum collection is very diverse: you can find works from the old masters, modern paintings, product design, applied arts, sculptures, prints and drawings to photography, video and film. There are unique pieces and items that have been mass produced. in their hundreds, thousands or even millions.
Old Masters collection
The Old Masters collection is unique because Boijmans - Van Beuningen is the only museum in the Netherlands with works from Hieronymus Bosch and Pieter Bruegel the Elder. You can enjoy 17th century Dutch art, but also works form other countries and periods. You can see Bruegel’s Tower of Babel and Rembrandt’s Titus and works from Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, Kees van Dongen and Piet Mondriaan.Surrealist work
The large collection of Surrealist work contains intriguing paintings and works of Salvador Dalí, René Magritte, Max Ernst, Marcel Duchamp and Man Ray. Your imagination will be stirred by their work as well as by the films, objects and extraordinary books that are part of this collection.Modern Art collection
The museum houses a Modern Art collection as well. You can see works from Andy Warhol, Claes Oldenburg, Donald Judd, Joseph Beuys and others inside the museum but also outdoors in the museum garden with its large sculptures.Arts and Crafts and Design collection
In addition the museum contains an Arts and Crafts and Design collection, which includes precious jewellery as well as everyday objects, such as old crockery or modern office equipment. Many of the utensils can be seen in paintings in the rest of the collection. For instance, you can see the real plates and spoons used in a Jan Steen painting.Print _ Drawings collection
Furthermore you can visit the Print & Drawings collection which is one of the world's most important collections of drawings. The collection contains about twenty thousand works from different countries and periods, from the Middle Ages to the present day. You can see works of masters like Pisanello, Dürer, Rembrandt, Watteau, and Cézanne.Besides the permanent exhibitions the museum organizes temporary exhibitions as well. So there's a lot for you to see in this museum with its worldclass collection!

DIRECTIONS Museum Boijmans - Van Beuningen Rotterdam
The Boijmans - Van Beuningen museum is centrally located in the Museumpark in city centre. Get there by taking the metro to Eendrachtsplein, tram 7 to Museumpark or tram 4 to Eendrachtsplein.
If you come by car you can park your car in the WestBlaak or Erasmus Medical Center parking.
