Rotterdam Market Hall: open 7 days per week!
To Canadian and U.S. example, presently a market hall is built in the Blaak area in Rotterdam. Rotterdam wouldn't be the main city of architecture, as the hall would not be cutting edge and in the shape of a giant airplane hangar. The fully covered market hall should be ready in 2014 and is multifunctional, as it also hosts a huge parking lot and many apartments. During the construction of the market hall at Grotemarkt, many old remains of the medieval forerunner of Rotterdam, called Rotta, were excavated.

Unfortunately there's no such thing like good weather guarantee in the Netherlands, so if you still want to have that market feeling on a rainy day, the market hall will help out. Seven days per week! On the main floor, more than 100 booths with fresh vegetables, fresh fish and other specialties are planned as well as an Etos drugstore and an Albert Heijn supermarket.
