Scenic flight with a Cessna 172
At Rotterdam The Hague Airport, scenic flights are carried out by a 4-seater single-engine propeller plane. These Cessnas 172 are small, but built to last forever. The left front seat is for the pilot, so there's space for up to 3 passengers during a scenic flight. The flight itself is very comfortable and as the wings are attached at the top of the plane, you always have a good view of greater Rotterdam below. Scenic flights of different duration
In Rotterdam, scenic flights with a block time ranging from 20 to 60 minutes are offered. Before departure, you determine your preferred route together with the pilot by indicating what sights you'd like to see during your scenic flight. In a 30 minutes flight, for example, you could fly to the famous windmills of Kinderdijk, the impressive Maeslant storm barrier, downtown Rotterdam and the Feyenoord soccer stadium. In a 45 minutes scenic flight around you could also overfly Delft, The Hague, the Delta Works and the ancient city of Dordrecht. If you are lucky and your pilot a is a flight instructor, it's sometimes allowed to fly a bit yourself!

if you want to be in command yourself, you can book a trial flight lesson to experience the feeling of flying. If you like it, Flying Club Rotterdam also offers full private pilots licence training. Flying Club Rotterdam doesn't offer scenic flights though. Lionair and Sandair are the operators of scenic flights in Rotterdam. Both these companies offer flying lessons as well, but the rates at Flying Club Rotterdam are slightly lower. (€ 199 for 40 minutes in a Robin aircraft).
