ARCHITECTURE ROTTERDAM
Rotterdam has become world famous because of the modern architecture that you can fnd everywhere in the city. In 2005 the New York Times wrote that Rotterdam is to architecture what Paris is to fashion and Los Angeles to entertainment. You will find many architecture firms and design museums in the Rotterdam, some of which are considered the most progressive in the world and have been involved in the design of many famous buildings worldwide. Rotterdam is continously working on new ambitious projects to remain the world's modern architecture city. The city changes rapidly and you will feel and see the change everywhere. There are several companies that organize architecture walks through Rotterdem. You can ask more information at the tourist office. Below you can see some of the modern buildings that you can find in Rotterdam, but when you walk through the city you will find many more!
Montevideo
Montevideo is a 151 meters tall tower at the Kop van Zuid and contains apartments, shops, offices and restaurants.

New Luxor Theatre
Rotterdam's main theatre designed by the Australian architect Peter Wilson is a real eye-cather at the foot of the Erasmus Bridge.

Erasmus Bridge
The main landmark of Rotterdam, the longest cable-stayed bridge in the world and the highest bridge in the Netherlands.

Kunsthal
The design of this exhibition center has become world famous. It has been designed by Rotterdam's famous architect Rem Koolhaas.

Netherlands Architecture Institute
The building of the Netherlands Architecture Institute is very modern and beautiful lighted at night.

The KPN building designed by the famous Italian architect Renzo Piano has got a huge billboard showing graphics all day and night!

Scheepvaart en Transport College
The building of the navigation and transport college looks like a big periscope with a pattern of a big chess board.
