Cube houses Rotterdam
The cube houses in Rotterdam are famous all over the world because of their striking design.
The cube houses were designed by Dutch architect Piet Blom, who tilted a normal cube house 45 degrees and rested it on a hexagon-shaped pylon. Each of the houses represents a tree and all togther they represent a forest. There are 38 cube houses all connected together with two megacubes at each of the ends. The houses have got three floors with a living space of around 100 square meters. Some of the residents use the small third floor as their garden.
The cube houses don't have any straight walls inside, so this gives a lot of new residents a headache when they need to buy their furniture. People that choose to live in these houses have to be creative while redecorating their houses.
The cube houses attracted so many tourists that one of the residents decided to open his house to the public. His house is called the Show Cube (or Kijkkubus in Dutch) and you can visit the house to see what it's like to live in a cube house. You will be able to imagine all of the challenges that the residents have to cope with every day! Watch your head while walking through the house!
The cube houses are located in the middle of the Blaak area where you can find some other striking designs like the underground Blaak station, the city library and the Pencil tower.

The cube houses are located right in city center at the Overblaak next to the Blaak metro and train station. You can easily get there by taking metro, train, tram 1 or bus 32 or 49 to Blaak.

ik ga proberren om mijn 2e taal nederlands te spreken... deze huizen zijn beuitiful en ik raad al deze huis om u gewoon te bezoeken! ze maakte mijn friken leven. ik denk dat er in de film ummm ik niet hernneren lijst met ideeen
