Railz Miniworld Rotterdam
Railz Miniworld is the largest indoor model layout of the Netherlands. You can enjoy model trains, cars, ships, houses and buildings of typical Dutch and well-known landmarks from Rotterdam. You can see more than 100 model trains driving on the 2 kilometers railroad track. The trains pass hundreds of model cars and buildings and cross bridges and tunnels. Every 24 minutes the lights change to simulate day and night. At night you can enjoy ten thousands of lights in the streets and the houses.
The miniature world contains a coastline, a typical Dutch countryside, a big port and a suburban area. Railz Miniworld even includes the model of a big city inspired by Rotterdam with models of the Erasmus bridge, Hotel New York, the new Central Station, de Hef railroad bridge and much more. In the future they plan to expand further and to include foreign layouts as well starting with layouts for England and Scotland.
But there’s much more to do in Railz Miniworld than just watching the models. First of all Railz Miniworld is an interactive experience because you can use buttons to activate certain scenes in the model layout. In addition you can visit the workshop to see how the models are built or you can see how the models are controlled from the command center. There’s even a small cinema where you can watch a short film to see how the model layout was built. And there’s a shop where you can buy your own models to take home!
Railz Miniworld organizes tours where you can get a peek behind the scenes. The tour will take you to parts of the model layout that are normally not accessible for visitors. You need to make a reservation if you would like to join these tours. Please look at the Railz website for more information.
Railz Miniworld is a must-see for train enthusiasts but guarantees fun for the whole family as well!

Railz Miniworld is located at the Weena 745 close to Central Station. It's a short walk from Central Station.
If you come by car you can park your car in the Groothandelsgebouw or Schouwburgplein parking.
