Watertaxi Rotterdam
Watertaxis are small boats that fit 8-12 people and take you quickly from one spot to another without being bothered by traffic jams. It's a great way to travel through the city! There are two types of watertaxis: the classic watertaxi HNY and the superfast Maastaxi. The watertaxi HNY navigates on a fixed schedule between hotel New York, the historic Veerhaven and Leuvehaven in city center. The modern Maastaxi visits a lot of stops along the Meuse river and you just need to call the taxi when you need it. You can find the phone number at signs at each of the stops. When you call you need to tell them where you are and where you want to go to and they will send a taxi over.
You can find around 30 different watertaxi stops along the Meuse river in Rotterdam, but also just outside Rotterdam. There are stops at most of the places of interest like Delfshaven, Euromast, Veerhaven, hotel New York, ss Roterdam, stadium Feyenoord, maritime museum and the old harbour.
The watertaxis work with a fixed rate system: the rate depends on the numbers of persons and the distance that want to travel. A short ride will cost you only a few euros. You can find all available rates on the watertaxi website and in the boats. Of course you could also ask for the rate when you make the reservation. You could also hire a watertaxi to do a tour through the city. Tours are available from 15 till 120 minutes.
