nhow Bar Rotterdam

Wilhelminakade 137, 3072 AP Rotterdam

Description

A pretty view of Rotterdam

The nhow Bar is probably the hotel bar with the most dramatic view of Rotterdam. It's definitely worth to take the elevator to the 7th floor of the nhow Hotel in the De Rotterdam building at the Wilhelmina Pier to enjoy the views of the river Maas. From the terrace of nhow Bar you see the Euromast Tower on your left hand side and on your right you are face to face with the Erasmus Bridge. The nhow Bar is a brand new concept in Rotterdam, inspired by the Sirocco bar in Bangkok and the rooftop bars in Shanghai.

Lunch and dinner at the nhow Bar

Nhow hotel guests have breakfast at the nhow Bar area, but also if you're just visiting you can have breakfast at €19. The classic 'hotel dishes' such as a Burger, a club sandwich and a soup are on the lunch menu. You can also have dinner at the nhow Bar. The most wanted seats and tables are at the hypermodern roof top outdoor terrace. If it's chilly outside, you'll get a blanket to keep you warm.

Going out at the nhow Bar Rotterdam

The setting at the nhow lounge Bar is hip and sleek, but certainly not bombastic. The menu prices are reasonable (lunch at €15, dinner main course at €20). Perhaps the evening hour is the best timing to visit the nhow Rotterdam roof top terrace. You can have a drink, while enjoying the sunset with the illuminated skyline of Rotterdam. On Friday and Saturday night a DJ spices up the nhow Bar until 2 am in the morning.

" Worst restaurant experience ever!!!!! Inexperienced untrained staff; they left us four times in the middle of ordering food. We had to call them every time. This is the first time I see the restaurant of a 4-star hotel serves food like street food corners; the "steak", which looks more like beef donor kebab, came in a plastic dish with a paper. Even Mc. Donald has a better representation for food! The food tasted terrible; it was tasteless actually. The salad was fine though but not good enough for a luxury restaurant. And such a terrible two-course dinner for three, for 90 euro! I am willing to pay that much for nice food and good service but I think we just wasted our money on something worthless. I wouldn't even give one star to this restaurant. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anybody: instead, go to a donor restaurant and you will receive better service and food for cheaper price!"

" An amazing view across the river. Impeccable service in a new minimalistic-boutique-esque hotel. The rooms are well furnished and very comfortable. The breakfasts whilst buffet, cater for most tastes with a large selection of choice. Simply fantastic all round."

" It’s okay, but leaves room for improvement. We (2add, 1child) were in a superior room on the skyline side of the hotel, it is a spacious room, the extra bed fits fine. The view on the 10th floor is nice, the Erasmus bridge is prominent. The interior is modern and minimalistic. There the improvements become obvious. The tv is hidden behind a mirror glass, this makes it practically unusable during daytime. It is slow to react on channel changes and menu functions don’t work. The bathroom is nice, again spacious and functional, we liked the double sinks. When taking a shower, the shower head is fine but the holder is flimsy and won’t last long, probably to be replaced every few weeks. There is no room to place the nice soap bottles. And the big towels you have to leave on the sink or on the ground as there is no where to hang them, no way to collect any good karma protecting the environment. During the night we had some trouble catching sleep as the bar terrace is right below our room and was open for business up to 1:30. Staff is pleasant friendly, location is perfect. The bridge away from downtown situated at hotel New York leads to a nice relaxed area with restaurants and bars with good quality food all within few minutes walking distance."
