Discover Rotterdam with kids
In addition to museums and attractions for kids in Rotterdam, which can be visited throughout the whole year, Rotterdam organizes some great events (especially during school vacation) which are fun to visit for kids.

Events for kids in summer
The majority of events suitable for kids are organized in summer. A special social event for kids during the summer vacation is the Kids Paradise, where they can play around and do sports. On Queen's Day in Rotterdam there is a huge Fun Fair and they can buy (or sell!) their old toys at the kids flea market. The major summer festivals in Rotterdam including Summer Carnival, City Racing Rotterdam and the World Port Days are also great to visit with the whole family. Teenagers love to watch one of the movies in the Open Air cinema in the park.

Events for kids in winter
As a typical Dutch tradition, in November the generous and holy Sinterklaas arrives in Rotterdam by boat and makes a tour through the city with gifts for all kids. At the Christmas Circus in Ahoy Rotterdam kids can watch spectacular shows and funny clowns. In wintertime, sporty kids can skate at the city ice rink and talking about skating: the ice skating shows of Holiday on Ice and Disney on Ice are great fun for kids as well.

Any events for kids on a rainy day?
At the New Luxor Theatre and Hofpleintheater many special kids shows take place, for example from Kabouter Plop and Mega Mindy. At the Ahoy multifunctional venue there are several kids concerts such as the Studio 100 Zomerfestival and from girls band K3.
