Day trips from Rotterdam
There are plenty of great things to do in Rotterdam itself, but many other sights, attractions and cities are within easy reach of Rotterdam as well because of the central location of the city. It is certainly worth to stay a bit longer in Rotterdam to do a few nice trips!

Famous Dutch attractions
Just South of Rotterdam you can find the famous windmills of Kinderdijk, one of the most important sights in the Netherlands. Another world famous landmark of the Netherlands, the Delta Works (Neeltje Jans) are located about an hour drive from Rotterdam. And the popular Keukenhof with their gorgeous flowers is easily accessible from Rotterdam as well.

Other cities near Rotterdam
Rotterdam is located at less than 20 minutes from The Hague (with the beautiful Scheveningen beach) and Dordrecht, Holland's oldest city with many monuments. The historic city of Delft, famous for Blaauw Delftware pottery is just 10 minutes away from Rotterdam. Also the capital of the Netherlands, Amsterdam is easily accessible by car and high speed trains. In less than an hour you are in the center of Amsterdam.

Amusement Parks
Are you looking for nice day trip full of fun? Visit the Duinrell amusement park or miniature city Madurodam (both about a half hour from Rotterdam). A little further from Rotterdam (about an hour) but absolutely worth a visit is the Efteling theme park, one of the best theme parks in Europe!
