Restaurant Thoms Rotterdam

Whether you're a local or a tourist, there's no way around it: Meent used to be a boring back street, but is now the one of the nicest shopping areas of Rotterdam. Many trendy fashion labels and bars opened at Meent in Rotterdam, which has created a lively atmosphere. Restaurant Thoms is located in the heart of the Meent area, next to the Nespresso Boutique and opposite Grand-Café Dudok on the other side of the street.

Thoms outdoor terrace

You can have lunch and dinner at the lovely terrace, which is quite sunny, especially later in the afternoon and early in the evening. Thoms' terrace isn't very spacious, but during the summer months, the outdoor eating area is increased by temporarily sacrificing a couple of parking spaces. More terrace and fewer cars on the streets, that sounds like a win-win situation for everyone! At Thoms it's always showtime, as trendy shoppers pass by the terrace and many guys show off their shiny wheels during the weekend.

Menu Thoms Rotterdam

Is bling bling all there is at restaurant Thoms? The answer is no. The food is of excellent quality with uncomplicated dishes on the menu. From the lunch menu we strongly recommend the shrimp croquettes and the Black Angus Burger and for dinner at Thoms you can't mistake either. Taste the French chicken and again Thom's Black Angus Burger. (It's slightly more expensive than at lunch though!)

Underground bar Thoms Rotterdam

Thoms is located at the corner of the Timmerhuis, a recently renovated monument. If you walk around the Timmerhuis, you'll see that it resembles a cloud formation in the air, designed by the architect Rem Koolhaas by the use of a lot of glass panels. Restaurant Thoms has two entrances: one at the street side (Meent) and the other at the Museum Rotterdam, also located within the Timmerhuis. The big stairs in the restaurant lead to Thoms Underground bar, where you can hang around or dance after dinner.
