At Binnenrotte, normally the largest weekly market in Rotterdam takes place, but in the holiday season a romantic Christmas market is held. If you are still in your daily working rhythm, this market is a fun way to get into the Christmas mood. The Rotterdam Christmas market is the place to be for Christmas shopping and more than 100 stalls offer Christmas gifts, Christmas trees, Christmas decorations and even Christmas underwear. Don’t forget to try ‘Poffertjes’ at the traditional Dutch pancake booth. The live band plays their special Christmas repertoire, Christmas time as it’s meant to be.

Live nativity scene for children in Rotterdam
One of the highlights of the Christmas market is perhaps the nativity scene with live music and live animals like a donkey, a pony, goats and sheep. You might also bump into Santa Claus. In a special stall, children can decorate donuts, while parents can take a time-out for Christmas shopping.
