    Running across five bridges in Rotterdam
    The Bridge Run (or Bruggenloop in Dutch) is one of the famous running events in Rotterdam besides the Rotterdam Marathon and the Adidas Ladiesrun. The special thing about the Bridge Run is that the run goes across five major bridges in Rotterdam and that the run takes place in December which means you run along the Christmas lights and decorations. The 15 km run starts at the Feyenoord Stadium (De Kuip) and the festive decorations along the route giving the marathon a nice extra dimension. You don't have to run the Bridge Run by your own, because you can join the Business Run, where you can run together with colleagues and business associates.

    Run across the stunning Erasmus Bridge
    The route of the Bridge Run goes across five different bridges in Rotterdam, including the stunning Erasmus Bridge and the Van Brienenoordbrug. From the start at the Feyenoord stadium the route through the Laan op Zuid in the direction of the Wilhelminaplein. This is where the runners cross the Erasmus Bridge and a little further the New Leuvebrug bridge. The track continues towards the Extended Willemsbrug bridge and the Boerengat Bridge. the Bruggenloop prosecuted on the Maasboulevard where at the end a nursing post. The track then continues towards the Brienenoordbrug where the Nieuwe Maas (river Meuse) is crossed for the last time. Back in the Southern part of Rotterdam, the runners go south towards the finish which is located at the Feyenoord stadium as well.

    Run for charity
    Like many other running events there is a charity connected to the Bruggenloop. That charity is the 'Doe een Wens' foundation that fulfills wishes of children between 3 and 18 years with a life threatening illness. With your participation of the Bridge Run you give your support to this foundation, which is a great reason to join! But even as a spectator, you can make a difference by giving a donation to this foundation.

    Spectator or participant?
    Whether you're a spectator or a participant, the Bridge Run is a great event to view or to attend. The runners have the opportunity to run along the beautiful city skyline in a unique Christmas atmosphere. If you don't want to run yourself you can combine your visit to the Bridge Run with shopping in Rotterdam city center, because the shops are open on Sunday! But don't forget to encourage the runners before or after shopping!

  • DIRECTIONS Bridge Run Rotterdam

    The World Port Tournament is held in the Neptunus Family Stadion at the Abraham van Stolkweg 31 in Rotterdam, just outside the city center. The stadium can be easily reached with bus 38 from Rotterdam Central Station or with bus 32 from Schiedam and the Blaak station.

    If you come by car you have to take exit 'Rotterdam-Centrum / Diergaarde Blijdorp' at the ring road (A20 North). There's enough free parking space close to the stadium.
