World Record Marathon Rotterdam
Rotterdam has been the world record holder between 1985 and 1998. The record was first held by Carlos Lopes (2:07:12) and since 1988 by Belayneh Dinsamo with a time of 2:06:50. The current track record of 2:04:27 has been held by the Kenian runners Duncan Kibet and James Kwambai since 2009.

You can try to break the world record yourself by participating in the Rotterdam Marathon or maybe the 5/10 kilometer runs. Experience what it's like to be supported by a crowd of 900.000 spectators on your way to the finish line. You can register online for the Rotterdam Marathon about a year before the start. Fee from €50,00. On Saturday the Kids Run takes place.
